Choosing the right CPA Exam Review Course

I have been out of school for over ten years.  Choosing a CPA review course is a daunting task.  I feel like I need to start from scratch with learning.  It's been difficult trying to find time for study outside of work and my kids' busy schedules, they're almost as busy as my own!  So, three weeks ago I did the most difficult thing I have done, and that was to resign from a Staff Accountant position in order to study for the CPA Exam. Fortunately, I was given the opportunity to work part-time from home.

Who knew? Sometimes you gotta take that leap of faith and believe that it will all be alright.  Enough with the mushy stuff!

Here are the two CPA Review Courses I am deciding between:

Rogers CPA Review and Surgent CPA Review

Rogers is an old and tested CPA Review course with hundreds and thousands of positive reviews. Surgent, on the other hand, is relatively new.  Surgent has been in the CPA Review Course business for around three years. I am only leaning toward Surgent because of its promise to cut study time in half.  I am playing around with the trial version, which is only available for three days, which I don't like at all. I don't think it's enough time to make a real decision.

If anybody out there has any tips or suggestions, they would be so appreciated!

Until next time,
The Stylish Accountant

It started out fine, I interned at a local CPA firm, got hired on and fell in love with Tax Law and Financial Statements. A few years later, I actually fell in love again, this time with a wonderful Man. I got married and had my first child, priorities suddenly changed and I found myself leaving my love, the CPA firm.  Maybe if I had thought to simply go on a break, instead of breaking up, this blog would not be in existence. After my third child, I thought, I should be able to go back to working on getting my CPA license, easy, right? Wrong!  I have worked as an Accounting Specialist, Medicare Manager, which is a fancy way to say Billing Manager, and a Bookkeeper.  My dream...
